    Fine large crested George II siver cream jug 1752

    This fine large George II silver cream jug was made in London in 1752 by Samuel Meriton and measures 4 5/8 inches to the top of the handle by 3 5/8 inches handle to spout and is 2.25 inches in dia across the foot, it has a stepped baluster foot with a nicely proportioned pear shaped body that has a cut work border and a scrolled handle with acanthus leaf thumb piece and is fully and clearly hallmarked under the base. It is in excellent condition with no problems and of good gauge silver, like the day it was made.
