    Quality William IV silver covered bowl London 1837

    This nice quality crested William IV silver covered bowl was made in London in 1837 by Edward Farrell and measures 6.75 inches tall by approx 4 5/8 inches at its widest and is 4 5/8 inches in dia across the top and 3.25 in dia across the base. The foot is cast and pierced with flower heads, foliage and scrolled acanthus leaves with the body and lid being embossed and engraved with spiral panels of flowers and foliage, leaves and a fish scale design, there is a shaped cartouche to the front of a winged griffin with the motto CAESAR AVGVSTE. The body and the lid are both fully and clearly hallmarked and the interior is gilded, the bowl is in very good condition with no problems and weighs 14 ounces or 434 grams.
