Good provincial Elizabeth I silver seal top spoon C1600 Leicestershire
Reference: leic
This rare provincial Elizabeth I silver seal top spoon was made C1600 and is marked in the bowl only with a Bucranium as described in the Ellis collection of 13th November 1935 sold by Sothebys Lot 76 page 63 and ascribed by the late Mr Ellis to Leicestershire. It measures 6 1/8 inches in length and has a fig shaped bowl with no major signs of wear and has an unusual seal to the top of the stem which has the later initials and date of IH 1662 engraved to it, a nice early spoon with no problems.
