Superb and unusual George III silver pierced and engraved snuffer tray London 1790
Reference: piersn
This very pretty crested and unusual George III silver pierced sided snuffer tray was made in London in 1790 by William Plummer (specialist in pierced work) and measures just under 9.5 inches in length by 3 3/8 inches at its widest and has lovely scrolled acanthus leaf and graduated bead handles to either end. The sides are pierced and engraved which is most unusual and it is crested in the centre with a lion rampant. It is fully and clearly hallmarked under the base and is in very good condition with no problems, a lovely unusual piece.
