    Superb quality pair armorial George III silver tureens John Schofield 1795

    This superb pair of armorial and crested George III silver sauce tureens were made in London in 1795 by John Schofield (listed as a very important maker) and measure 9.25 inches handle to handle by 4.5 inches at their widest and are approx 7 inches tall and stand on a collett foot with gadrooned detailing which is repeated on the top rim, they are fluted to the bottom half of the body and this is repeated on the lid and the cast finial of the lid is the crest of an eagles head between wings. They have reeding to the handles and have a large coat of arms to the fronts, this being the marital arms of Sennocke and Arundell (Heraldic research has been done and certificate is included) They are fully and clearly hallmarked both to the foot rim and the lid rim and are in superb condition with no problems and weigh 46.5 ounces, a beautiful pair of tureens by an excellent maker that would grace any collection or table.
